Meet Evelyn
Real Tips. Real Stories. Your go-to source for travel that fits your pace.

Hi, I’m Evelyn, the heart- and feet behind Wander with Evie. – a travel blog for people over 50 who are retired, but not retired from traveling! Travel’s in my blood. My dad’s job kept us moving, and my grandparents built the first hotel in their small town. So I guess you could say I didn’t have a normal life. After studying hotel management, I spent three decades as a hotelier before moving into cruises and destinations sales.
Along the way, I’ve lived and travel throughout the U.S., South America, Europe, the Caribbean, and the Middle East. I started this site to share everything that industry insider knowledge has taught me. The tips and “wish someone had told me this” advice that makes travel easier. Even an occasional “dang it” moment.
Turns out “senior discount” and “sense of adventure” aren’t mutually exclusive! Come join me as I wander the world, knee replacement and all!
You’ll find:
- Stress-free travel guides and packing hacks for comfort and ease
- Mobility-friendly tips and practical itineraries for comfortable adventures
- Budgeting advice for solo travelers and retirees
- Destination ideas that balance beauty, culture, and safety.
